When podcasts first became a thing I tried to listen to them and failed. I can’t even remember what types of podcasts I downloaded but I was not interested at all. I deleted all of them and moved on. Last fall I wanted to do more research on certain aspects of blogging and business and was looking for audio so I could listen while I cleaned, cooked dinner, did laundry or drove. I had plenty of books that I had to read so I needed something that would work for multi-tasking.
I re-discovered blogging and maybe, because I had specific topics I was looking for, I fell in love. I currently have 43 different podcasts on my phone (some of them aren’t active anymore- I just went back and listened to back episodes). A lot of you spend a lot of time in the car or on trains commuting so it’s the perfect time to sit back and listen! Each month I’ll give you a few new podcasts to check out along with the description the podcast provides.
- How I Built This – How I Built this is a NPR podcast. How I Built This is a podcast about innovators, entrepreneurs, and idealists, and the stories behind the movements they built. - Side Hustle School – I love this podcast because each episode is only a few minutes. Side Hustle School is a daily show for everyone who works a regular job and wants to start an income-earning project on the side. The show is written and hosted by Chris Guillebeau, the New York Times bestselling author of The $100 Startup, The Happiness of Pursuit, and other books.
- Make it Happen – Make It Happen is a podcast for big-hearted creatives who are ready to build an impactful, fulfilling, and sustainable creative life.
